There are two varieties of Amrapali. One is small in shape and the other is comparatively large. The mango is suitable for eating cut. The mango tree is dwarf in size. The tree bears plenty of fruit and fruits every year. The fruit begins to ripen in the last week of Asharh. It takes five months from flowering to maturity. After harvesting, it takes 5-6 days to ripen. Commercially the most successful, Amrapali is currently one of the most popular mangoes in Bangladesh.'In 1971, Dr. Pijush Kanti Mazumdar of the Indian Agricultural Research Center developed this variety. This mango is small in size, but it surpasses many mangoes in sweetness. One kg holds 6-8 mangoes. This mango begins to ripen in the 3rd week of June.
