This mango is much sweeter than even Langra. Its total soluble sugar (TSS) is about 21 percent. The TSS of Langra is 17 to
19 percent. The sweetness of Khirsapat, that is Himsagar, is 19 to 20 percent.

Besides, the edible portion of other good varieties is 80 to 82 percent, but
the edible portion of Gourmati is about 93 percent. When ripe, the mango looks wonderful with a blend of yellowish and vermilion colors. Its aroma is also lovely. Each of these promising mangoes weighs about 250 to 350 grams. This variety got the late-variety traits from Ashwina and the color, shape, taste and other traits from Langra. It is not a variety created by crossbreeding (cross) in a laboratory. It came into being through natural processes. It is a new, very sweet mango variety born naturally in Chapainawabganj.
